Things To Do and Places To Visit around Broadway
The Cotswolds were described by Lonely Planet as "Glorious villages riddled with beautiful old mansions of honey-coloured stone, thatched cottages, atmospheric churches and rickety almshouses".
Local villages including Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Camden are waiting to be explored with their stone-built buildings, and interesting shops. Stratford-upon-Avon with it's William Shakespeare connections is just 15 miles away.
Broadway itself has many interesting shops and places to eat, and attractions including the Ashmolean Museum Broadway, Gorden Russell Design Museum, and Broadway Tower with it's extensive views of up to 16 counties.
There are numerous local gardens that are worth a visit including Snowshill Manor and Gardens (NT), Hidcote Manor Gardens (NT), and Kiftsgate Court Gardens to name a few that are colourful from Spring through to Autumn.
Other attractions include Cotswold Farm Park, Bourton Model Village, the British Motor Museum and The Bugatti Trust.
The Cotwolds is excellent walking country, and the Cotswold Way and Wychavon Way both pass through Broadway. Other long distance paths include Shakespeare's Avon Way and the Heart of England Way. There are numerous marked local walks ranging from 2 to 5 miles in length, or you can simply walk around the picturesque villages.
